I have waited tables. I’ve worked in bars. You know who tips well? The working poor, the lower middle class, and people who work or have worked in service industries. You know who tips shitty or not at all? Rich people, upper middle class people, and privileged fuckers who use their “moral opposition” to tipping to be cheap assholes.

"WHEELCHAIR-BOUND" IS ABLEIST LANGUAGE

"WHEELCHAIR-BOUND" IS ABLEIST LANGUAGE

"WHEELCHAIR-BOUND" IS ABLEIST LANGUAGE

as well, terms like ”confined to a wheelchair” or ”left them in a wheelchair” are ableist, and incredibly paternalistic in terms of speaking about/to wheelchair users.

i’m not confined, or bound - or even ”left in” - my wheelchair. like any other movement, my chair acts as a way for me to navigate the world; it does not limit me.

in fact, what limits or binds me to being otherized and segregated is an inaccessible society that considers a third-rate ramp on the side of a building a supreme privilege into ”their” society, for which i should be eternally grateful.

Protesters are angry about these strange negotiations to release protesters. What kind of practice is this?

September 28th

That isn’t kidnapping, that’s taking hostages. But that’s beside the point. WHY ISN’T THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT STEPPING IN AND STOP THE POLICE?! THE FERGUSON POLICE IS CLEARLY BREAKING LAWS, AND YET THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ISN’T DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
